removed the engine/transmission and removed the engine "perches". (changing these to 1979 302 cubic engine perches to allow for the correct ride heigth of the 302 engine) One bolt was up under the corner of the steering box so basically I removed 2 out of those 3 bolts on the steering box so I could remove the last engine perch bolt.

"Finished" round 1 of my wiring today. EZ harness, MSD Ready-To-Run Dizzy, Blaster 2 coil and 8.5mm wires. Truck fired right up. Couple original gauges arent working but i think the CVU got unplugged. Also the passenger turn signal isnt working so I get to chase those out tomorrow. Overall I'm happy. :D

straightened and welded up a couple of small places on my inner fenders, then ground them down and primed them....(i figured i'd fix the issues before media blast and epoxy).

Did some more welding on the cab.

Rebuilt my steering column and prepared it for mock-up.

Cab is on track to be on the frame Saturday!

Yanked out motor/trans again.. dumping the MII suspension, cutting the rails and clamping the Trans Am clip in place. It's been a long hard road....

Finally got the rear bumper brackets I've been looking for.
Finally got around to bolting down my new core support and adjusting the fenders so the FREAKING grill will fit like its supposed to. Misalignment, thy name is woman. More trouble than you're worth.
And discovered a neat little item on those new core supports.
The holes that mount the splash guard and the header supports DO NOT take cage nuts. They're threaded. Way cool. I'm going to post this as a separate item for those who aren't reading this thread. So if you see it, ignore it.

changed my front tires and got the toe-in set. steering wheel is back in the center where it was before i changed the springs.
thanks to the guys at the tire shop across the street for their help and the use of their pavement.

scraped por 15 off my frame to find the vin which i need to get my title changed over as i have no door tag (never did, the original cab took a hit to the cab corner and door and the p.o. never bothered to look for it at the accident scene.

Took the '66 for a ride, try to do that daily while the weather is still nice.

Leaned on the uni and schemed. Found out that what looked like a rust spot in the right footwell below the hinge was actually junk in the paint causing it to lift.

Bead blasted a bunch of y-block parts.

Cool weather must be magic.
I pre-fitted some "special" parts today and will be bead blasting them Saturday or Sunday so I can shoot them with epoxy primer and some kind of color. Anyone used hammer-tone and if so, how does it hold up with use?
I'm doing a pictorial "how to" to go along with these parts, but won't post them until the jobs finished.

rust-oleum hammered finish?
used it on my wheels, held up good
used it inside the bed ,did ok on the floor but peeled on the sides.
the rougher the surface the better it sticks
applies good with a quality brush or roller and does not leave marks

Pulled the sender out of her tank,[ Red '62 F950 oil tanker slick ] expected to find float full of gas, but it was MT. Pulled sender apart cleaned contact, checked with my ohm meter, works! installed new float [just in case ] drained out old garbage dead rusty fuel, will fill with fresh this week, give her a few good runs and put her up FOR SALE, looking to downsize to a another 250 or 350 or 5 or 600. Or nothing

Didn't do anything on the Slick. But, I did empty all my parts outta the camper (storage) to get to my fenders. Then reorganized everything going back in to make finding parts easier in the future :)

seperated my fenders from my core support, and worked on doing the same for my grill and front stone deflector...most of the bolts had to be cut off with a grinder :( but once they are seperated, new ones will go back in their places.

well now that the subframe is clamped in place and centered in the wheel wells... I'm putting the motor in today and making motor mounts. yesterday I also made make shift ladder bars so I can at least roll the truck in and out of the shop. progress at 2 hours a day! it's hard to believe how much you can accomplish in 2 hours a day.... :D
