3spd trans trouble

Hey fellas! It's been quite a while since I've been around the site. New format looks good!

The truck's been running great since I finished the rebuild last year. In fact, it's back in daily driver service (the Jetta finally crapped out).

I started noticing some symptoms from trans in the last week. The 'whine' of reverse has changed and gotten louder and it's been jumping out of third gear when I transition from power to coasting.

Anyone know of a good parts kit source and/or a good tutorial on the Ford 3spds?

Since I have to drive it every day, I guess I'll be looking for a good core to rebuild.

Might just be out of lube?

I wish it were that easy. Lube is good. Though, it is leaking out the front seal now.

These transmissions are pretty common.. I'd just grab another and go for it..

make sure its from a 65-up 2wd truck
the earlier ones and the 65/66 4x4 have a different input shaft
also there are some with a slip yoke and some with a bolt on yoke on the rear.

I've found out about the differences already. The only thing I can find around here is completely worn out, has a bolt on yoke and is apparently worth its weight in gold. I need one with a slip yoke.

Hopefully I will find one between here and north AL. I'm planning a trip up there in a couple weeks.

Thanks for the offer. Roanoke is a bit of drive. You never know, though, seems like I'm always on the road.
