Started planting wheat yesterday
Plenty early.... Not in a rush right now
All kids in school or work, only have their labor on the weekends
Colleen has a part time job. So it's just me several days
Soybeans will be about ready to cut when the wheat planting done
Then plant wheat on the cut bean ground.....
Tractors and combines built in the 70s....
Grain trucks built in the 60s
Seems like they break down no more often than the neighbors modern stuff :clap:
Only diff is... They call the dealer , I wrench myself... WAY CHEAPER :twisted:

Actually ... I figure a mechanic wages are higher than a farmers
So when I save all those repair cost , by doing it myself...
I am making more :mrgreen:
I guess I need to maintain them less :shock:

Nice logic on that maintenance /mechanic savings ;)

When I was in the t-shirt biz, a buddy of mine was a competitor, I asked him if he was bidding on this one huge account that paid very little per piece.. he told me..
"Why ? I can make nothing sitting on the couch"

Sad thing was he was right .. we did LOTS of work for no profit...
