Dash Knobs

Post by RhinoGT »

Hi.
Can someone tell me how to remove the dash knobs from my 65 F250? I see that there is a little slot cut in the plastic knob and I am imagining that gives me access to what ever is holding the knob on the shaft, but I have not been successful. :(
Thanks in advance.

Use a thin screwdriver and just line it up with that slot and press. This will release the spring clip that holds those on. You have to push the spring and pull the handle at the same time.

The light switch has a button on top of the switch behind the dash, you push the button down and pull out the handle AND rod from the switch.

The handles with cable on them (choke, throttle, heater) do not come off. You have do undo the cable at the other end and pull it all thru.
It's a race.. Will hell freeze over or will JC finish his truck first. Stay tuned..
