chrome moulding front windshield
The factory repair manuel says to install the chrome moulding after installing the windshield. I did that procedure but havent been able to install the chrome in the groves. I guess it should be lubicated with sometype rubber lube. Any and all suggestion would be appreciated very much. Sorry to be asking soooo many questions but do need the help.

Re: chrome moulding front windshield
Samdog1966 and me did his w/s last year, we did the chrome into the rubber 1st, installed rubber onto glass, then installed into truck, real PITA, but the wat the 'key' [bend] is on the chrome we saw no other way.
Someone might have a different method.

Re: chrome moulding front windshield
no better way.
i dont think its possible to get the chrome in after the windshield is in the truck
put the chrome in first, then the glass then in stall it in the truck
have done several including with used rubber seal and no issues

Re: chrome moulding front windshield
i dont see why the glass would get broke from removing it, i have like i said removed and installed used windshields many times without any problem.

Wonder why the book says to put chrome on last after putting the windshield in first. Guess cant believe everthing you read. Thanks again for all your comments.
Re: chrome moulding front windshield
It took 4 attempts for the windscreen mob to get my windscreen not to leak, so they took the glass out 4 times and it didn't break on any of their removals, just caulk everywhere. Chrome went in before the windscreen though, it has a sort of hook or c shape, so not sure how you would get it in once the glass was installed.

Re: chrome moulding front windshield
My buddy bodyman helped me put it in but He is dead now and he told me sometime in the past they would grind off the hook at the bottom and glue it in when they didnt want to pull the window a second time. Thanks for all the help.
