The Ford vs Chevy battle?

When did that start?

Shouldnt it be the Mexico vs China battle?

Well, looks like the picture is in the right place. Maybe they could give it a decent burial.

Joey the point of the Ford 302 was that the 69 Z28's had a chebby 302 in them so they could qualify for transam racing.

If you have a need for speed do it on two wheels.

Ive had a 75 Honda GL1000, 75 Kaw KZ900, 79 CBX 1000, 80 Suzuki GS1100, and a 85 Kaw GPZ750.

All of them were sub-12 sec bikes, the Suzuki out of the crate was mid-10s and with some work could almost hit 9s. The 750 turbo was the fastest of all of them.

Today the 200hp V-Max is barely faster in the quarter, although it handles 1000x better.

I guess thats why fast cars do not impress me. I can go faster for less than 1/2 the money and have 2x the fun.

I've been riding, driving, racing for well over a half century now. I've been extremely fortunate to have had access to a wide assortment of vehicles, and to have managed to enjoy them somewhat unscathed. (hard to say that this time of the morning) . Bike, car, boat, or plane; fast DOES still impress me .
It's all relative, if I wanted only a sub-12 second ride, I'd just drive my wife's SUV :P .
For some reason, I continue to be impressed by a ragged $1000.00 farm truck with a smog motor which probably would struggle to break 15's; considerably slower than my tow vehicle
Of course, I also remain VERY impressed by a certain home-built trike based on said smog motor!
I suspect in my case, it's as much about "different" as "fast". I'll just leave it at that

The other day,I was working with one of those "nothing but GM,everything else sucks" guys. I was talking to someone else about Ford engines. Of course he started the "better off putting a chevy motor in it" sh!t. The hair stood up on the back of my neck and i told him we wasn't going to go there. And we didn't :x

Old truck kinda surprises me, too! I would like to delve into it to see what may be there, but since it's one of my few slicks that are actually drivable, I'm resisting the temptation. It's severely tire-limited by the later model rear. There are several local members with HIGH horsepower big blocks in SWB's; it really makes me curious as to what they are capable of.
