NEWB in Vegas

Post by whiz »

Hi all
Just wanted to drop a line, say I'm the new guy. Friends call me Whiz, I recently hauled my uni from GA to Vegas. While it is still in the project phase I hope to have at least a rolling setup by Christmas.

While I have created blasphemy to some of you it was just recently Camaro clipped before I left GA. Here is a shot shortly after the clip, and a rendering of the goal. Please forgive the inaccuracy of the rendering, it was done for free and the guy based it off of a long bed uni, which he tried to shorten.

After Clip:

Hmmm... looks like this post got missed somehow. Welcome!

I like the rendering as a longbed, actually. Maybe because I have a longbed myself. ;)

I think the colour combo will look sharp. Looks almost like stock 2-tone.

Welcome Whiz, looks like a great project you have got going on that uni.
Well i assume you survived the tail end of the desert heat and are now enjoying the cool down period.

Good luck on your build

sorry for the long pause. The latest, I have pictures somewhere, is the body is off of the frame. I ended up in a one of those legal/custody battles so it is draining me. I hope to have the new frame built in the near future. I'm still trying to find a good driveline shop here in vegas that specializes in quick changes, my frankland needs some help before it goes under the rear of this truck.

Whiz,
hey no problem about the long pause. Well the only two driveline shops I have dealt with in town are Dan's Driveline 702-658-5650 and their up on off of Rancho, between Cheyenne and Craig. I know a guy that works ther by the name of Andrew that I bought some Yblock parts from. The other is Adams Driveshaft, 702-568-5680 and their off of Sunset just west of Boulder highway in Henderson. The later of the 2 I use mostly because I live in Henderson. Adams has also done some gear changes for me too and I have no complaints. Their both very quick to get things done.

Spoke with Dan's back in May right after I moved out here. I believe the gentlemen I spoke with said he had some quickchange parts in stock. The only problem is that he wanted me to bring it up to him... Thats a heavy sucker to be picking up myself, hahaha. I guess if a i get a couple of folks over here I will have them help me load it in the superduty.

Michael, I'm probably not to far from you. I live in South Vegas near Silverado high school.

Whiz,
I don't think were too far apart at all. I live over on Pecoes and Robindale area. We shop at the Walmart right around the corner from you at Eastern and Serene quite a bit.

Yep right around the corner from wal mart... I'm at the corner or Pebble and Maryland, well not the corner... there is a strip mall there, but the neighborhood in that vicinity.
