Got a very similar setup from Harbor Freight; if it's that loud, I need to get it installed! One of our local members is wanting to install a 190 decibel unit!
He just hasn't determined a location for it with the 514, Gear Vendor's OD, and other requisite accessories. Says it needs to be that loud in order for the sound waves to outrun the truck

wha.gif

180 decibels in where said to be the death of the eardrum, 190 decibels in when sound waves are converted to shock waves.

Probably closer to 140...... I would hope !

I tend to agree; the LLA5 train horns measure around 130 at 10 feet; the Wolo's are stated as 125 db, with no notation as to measuring distance. I certainly wouldn't want my old worn out ears up close to any of them!

I want one of them horns that plays Dixie like the Duke boys used to have on the General Lee. Somehow that just seems to be appropriate from me and Nadine.

You do realize that when I get these, all the rest of you are Constitutionally prohibited from putting these on your trucks, right?
Well, maybe Toyz can be exempted. He's pretty much a redneck like me too.
