new seats

Post by therealjoeshmoe »

well i just got back from the salvage yard. i finally found some bucket seats out of a crown vic police car. got them for $60 so i think i did pretty good. im gonna cut the head rest off and have a mustang design seat cover made for them. kind of like the ranger seats only bigger and more comfortable.. now ive got to locate me a tilt column...

Why fart and waste it when you can burp and taste it!

have you test fit them yet ? Think it has been tried, and they sit too far forward ?

Most of those head rests have a release button on them so you don't have to cut them off.

I agree; if that's you in your pic, I don't think you will like the results. Those thick back cushions really eat up the room, especially if the in-cab tank is to remain!
If you want Mustang-type seats, I would heartily recommend the original Mustang ones. They obviously fit the cab well, since they were OEM in the Rangers, and can be had at a somewhat reasonable price.

I put a set of 68 Mustang buckets in my Uni. Fit nice but leg room might be a little tight, but I'm 6'1". If I set the seats a little higher I'd probably fit better, but I like 'em low!

Plus the leg room in my Mustang leaves a little for me to desire too!
62 short-uni, cv front swap, 4.6/auto
plus many other's!
