Ok, thanks John. I haven't moved the steering column or anything. The truck is all stock and other than being restored by me, it's a survivor and untouched. So I don't know if I'd even do the steering wheel swap, but it's nice to know that it can be done without swapping the column.

Just to update the thread.
I found the horn wire at green sales in Ohio the part is called:
Brush and Insulator Assy. CODZ-13A824-A
Thanks to Tom at Green sales who stuck with it and found the part.
