I am adding this because of more questions about cars from members...The cars that are turn key are 40-60 dollars ... Unfortunately the car of tomorrow stock cars were the best running ones. They can only be bought on ebay now I think.. Collectors are usually selling them. You have to be careful though. the car needs to be all of these things (CARRERA DIGITAL 1/32) scale. They sell three different scales, and non digital cars..

you don't want
1/24th

Carrera evolution
or Carrera Go
also indy cars are frail and don't work to well.. any tall old school car can be a easy one to traction roll in the corners, and most of the cars offered we have not owned.. so buying one is a bit of a crap shoot, I personally have had decent luck with the porsche 911

the local hobby shop usually has a few in stock

You might be able to just bolt in the chip to this car Greg, but since the thread started the chips have gone up 5- 10 bucks ...

yes Lance it sounds like it is going to be a big deal. You will have to start attending everyone so you can supply the track

I will get a controller and bring it.
I liked the Capri too much so if it costs me a couple extra bucks I'm not gonna sweat it.
It also works for me at the local track that isn't digital.

The one fly in the ointment is I don't get to even try it until I get to Iowa. I know some cheaters getting a lot more practice than that!

Only 1 time Alan. Trust me, I am no threat to anyone, I was the accident every time! My guess is if you get a hold of Lance and want to run over to Des Moines for an afternoon, he could get you some track time, too.

I do have a new car that I haven't even run yet, need to put my track back up and try it out. It's top secret, not a threat, but top secret.

Hahahahha

Steve, I`m pretty sure Lance won`t even be able to get up to top speed with us lot reeking havoc on the track  , he`s the only one that drives on a wooden track without magnets, maybe I should bring a stock car for the first few races! :P :rotflmao:

The Hobby shop in Urbandale (Hobby Haven) is going to try and have a few turn key Carrera cars in stock.. Its a fairly simple drive of about 12 miles from the hotel. Its straight west on 80/35, and then straight south on 86th st.

I'll try to slip in and buy them all so nobody else gets the chance! (cue evil laughter).

On second thought, maybe I should stay home more and work on my junk I already own.

Good thinking, Lance. Those guys are great.

Stopped in Hobby Haven in Des Moines this afternoon (like every trip to Des Moines since they were down on Lower Beaver Road a million years ago). Only a few Carrera 132 Digital cars in stock today. Also down to only 1 chip. I wasn't thinking or I would have bought the chip and offered to anyone needing one. They had other chips but only 1 Carrera.

Stopped at Hobby Town USA in North Omaha this morning. No Carrera stuff to talk of. Didn't see any cars there, no parts. They had several Scalextric (SP?) but no Carrera.

Did score a return loop for my HO scale Autoworld Drag Strip and another vintage style funny car but didn't get any 132 stuff.

I am not sure I have a slot routed for a pit lane yet ;)

How did you end up with an extra one?

Lance, I wanted to have 2 lanes in the pits, so there's one lane changer to take you off the race track and another to change lanes when in the pits, the trouble is they stopped making the pit lane without the refuel lane, so I had to buy another new style pits with refuel, does that make sense?, in the pic you can see where you come off just before the over pass, just after that the other pit off lane will be placed to then come around under the o/ pass and out to the pit area...

The good news is The Aussie Ford racing team is now digitized and are placed back in their show cases for transport!...
