Pate swapmeet 2013

Post by PFM-64f100 »

The 2013 Pate Swap Meet is coming up fast again. I will actually be at PATE this year on Thursday and Friday. Saturday is still up in the air for me as I want to do a canoe trip with the Boy Scouts and they have one on that Saturday. I will know more about Saturday once it gets a little closer.

Sorry this year I will not be having my BS/BBQ session at my house on Friday night. I will need to get ready for the canoe trip. Next year I do plan on doing it. I might actaully be camping at the speedway this year (in my spot). We will see what I am doing when I get there. I will still do the Snoty pig :)

For those waiting on the stickers they are still not in but I expect them here in a couple of weeks. Once they come in I will get them mailed out. If your address has changed please PM me the new address.

Schedule: (yes I know these are old picrutes we need to take some new ones this year).

Pate Swap Meet
My (Chris W) Schedule

Thursday 4-25-13
8:30 AM – Snooty Pig for Breakfast

Friday 4-26-13
7:30 AM – Snooty Pig for Breakfast

Saturday 4-27-13
7:00 AM - Snooty Pig for Breakfast

Sunday 4-28-13
Who the heck knows… It has been fun and a Long Weekend. Most people pack up this day some bargains can be found but it’s mainly a ghost town by mid afternoon.

All of the above is bound to change but shouldn’t change by to much…. If I’m not around come sit a spell anyhow…. 

Pate Spots we all have this year is:

Zone 2A – Block 64 – Row 11 & 12 – spaces 768-789 (Actually more but still same area)

Space Layout (How to find us) -

To everyone that bought there spaces via me this year, I have mailed your stuff to you yesterday so they should be there by weeks end. Together we have 22 spaces for fun this year. If anyone wants in on the fun next year (as far as getting your own spaces) let me know I will have to have the money before June 1st. No garentee we can expand more than what we have now. I have tried last 2-3 years and no luck. :)

This is some pictures of the fun from Last year in case you have forgotten.

Be sure to look for our sign we will have 2 this year. The second one looks like the window clings...

It's April, so only a few more weeks to wait.

We're driving up to Fort Worth on Thursday. We should be at Pate Friday morning, or possibly Thursday afternoon, depending on how long the drive takes and how tired we are when we get there.

Kevin, who came with us last year, is now a Slick owner and will be coming along this year too.

Still waiting on my stickers, hopefully they will show up today. The mail has been running slow at my house lately.

That makes me feel better. I thought from your first post that you had already gotten the stickers and mailed them out.

It's nice going up there without the stress of having to find that specific needed part once again. I've noticed that when you're hell bent on finding something you really need, you get tunnel vision and miss so many other things you probably really don't need but sure are nice to have. Sorry if I'm not making any sense here. I tend to drool when I think and type at the same time about Pate. Time to start praying to the weather Gods! I think we're due for a tornado or two. It's been awhile since hubcaps have been flying around out there.

I still remember the Saturday storm my first year there. Helluva storm. Truck was outside the fence, rode out the storm standing on tractor tires, dodging the lightning and holding onto some guys pop-up. Water was at least a foot and half deep running through the parking lot. Fun times.

Hey Max: That'll give you more time to take some of your awesome pictures. I'm still looking for an aerial shot of the facility during the event.

Makes perfect sense to me. Its also a better feeling to find something you didn't think you needed, than to go out looking for something specific and not find it.

Yep, I think it was 3 years ago that we were holding our ez-up together with broom handles and bungee cords we bought from the vendor down the row. The wind turned our ez-up so inside out and twisted that we just trashed it when we left. And a couple of years before that, we were there at the same time the Cowboys training facility collapsed because of high winds. Oh well, guess I'm off to sacrifice some chickens, or make some kind of offering in hopes for good weather this year.praying.gif

Yes, it was the same year the Cowboys Training Center collapsed. Next year we made sure the truck was easily accessible.
