Haven't had much time to work on the truck, did get the fuel tank mount built. Also cut the core support and started fitting the frontend. B&M Mega shifter came in along with the EZ wire kit. So pretty much have everything to get it done, just need some more time!

core support is welded back up & mounts are in. The rad stack had to be moved back 1 1/2" to clear the grill. Also changed the angle of the rad to allow for more clearance up top for the hood latch. Then cut the factory rad support mounts off the frame and welded them back about 6".

Everything seems to line up fine, will just need to fab bumper brackets now and the front is pretty much finished up. Next thing on the list is finishing off the rear frame and fuel tank 8)

Man your moving right along . The sad truth is most days by the time I get in from work ( between 7 and 10 PM usually ) I dont feel like doing much except becoming a vegetaable infront of the TV and laptop :D. I have to get my body off the chassis this weekend as I have promissed a new buddy the chassis this weekend so he can get the front axle off of it and get it to Sid so he can get his drop axle .

I know the feeling lol.. although my kids are 1 & 3 so only tv I get to watch is cartoons it seems. making a big project out of this truck wasnt the plan. I had just wanted to get it running with the 429 and do small projects on it while driving, oh well.

Finished the 3 harness's required to run the engine (going to finish the truck then remove the harness's again to loom). here is all 3 laid out:

Image

rear section with all the rear fuel tank and control wiring (for the 03+ make sure and keep the black box with red button, this is the fuel pump reset. it will NOT run with out it!!)

Image

Interior harness with a sub harness for the brake switch's. Was able to delete some connectors by repining into one.

Image

How the fuse blocks look now that they have been de-pined (don't cut out your wiring based on my pictures, I repined a few of the fuse locations!!!). Most of it though is in the original location.

Engine bay

Also the ignition switch, thinking of building some type of cool start switch for it.

Today did a bit of work, brake booster and petal installed. Then worked on the steering. I originally wanted to use a newer column with a Borgeson joint that worked slick on 390fastback's build. Unfortunately my local parts store couldn't source the part. Soooo after allot of messing around figured out a new set up.

I used a steering column shaft out of a JDM FD3S RX7, then pressed out the U-joint and matted the Crown vic 1/2 to it. Originally I was going to drill out the cv 1/2 to fit the slightly larger u joint cup. My Dad came up with a wicked idea that the shaft maybe the same size and to just use the ford cups on the rx7 u joint!!

Sure enough the CV ujoint shaft size was bang on to the RX7, worked perfect!

Its a great "mod" hahaha, I think this is the way all Slicks should come now :)

Truck is looking great, real similar exhaust set up as I'll be running too! I see you haven't figured out where you are going to mount your inertia switch like me either haha, I'm thinkin I'll just extend the wires and put it on back of the cab behind the seat.
