C4 trans connecting rod

[1965 stepside]

I hv a c4 1968 trans in my 65 stepside. I have a floor
Shifter in place of the colum shifter. But need the trans
Connecting rod to be facing up, first how do I take it out
And second can I put it back in facing up to work with my
Shifter?

You need to identify where the C4 came from, i. e. a car with floor shifter or a truck or car with column shifter. Then go to the manufacturer of the after market floor shifter you are using and see if you have the correct adapter. Removing the shifter arm from the transmission is complicated and you cannot flip it so that it points up. You need to resolve this externally with the correct shifter. IMHO.

Came from a 68 motorhome with a column shift
I had a feeling there was no easy way to fix this
That's ok I would rather it be fixed the right way
So it works and looks good. Thanks for your advice.

Here is an assortment of brackets for Ford trannys. All you do is bolt an aftermarket on. Sometimes you have to remove a portion of the stock arm. I usually try to use a B&M piece since they seem to work the best when modified if needed. Don't let the "cable" statements bother you, all you want is the arm and it doesn't care what attaches to it.
