'Nother Noob

Post by Macon ACE »

Hi all. Just bought a '64 F100 Flare Side last week. It's a rusty old thing but takes a pretty good picture:

I've just been doing a bunch of research for now - trying to figure out what I want to do with it. Not sure I like the wheels - it has 275 60 15 tires - thinking of going back to stock - maybe more modern FoMoCo wheels.

Drove it home from Easley SC. Well most of the way. It got stuck in first gear before I got it home. Haven't had much of a chance to do anything with it since I got it home.

Great website with tons of good info. Looking forward to learning and tinkering.

BTW: why are they called Slicks?

PS: Thanks to "dane" for tipping me off to this site.

Thanks! It looks really good from 10+ feet away. Has rust in the usual places, though. Runs good: original 292 rebuilt less than 12K miles ago, Edelbrock carb, tiny little chrome air cleaner. Anxious to get the trans right so I can drive it some more.
