rare and "original"360 FE

Post by ras4434 »

Went to look at a 66 yesterday. 500 was a bit much but thought I might be able to haggle a bit. Was told that it was a very rare original 360 FE and c-6 transmission  . Kind of one of those situations where he didn't want me to confuse him with the facts so I excused myself and slithered off, having been put in my place. :bs: I'll keep looking but I may have missed my chance........

That's weird. They are usually a rare 390 or 427.

I guess it would be rare if the 66' came with a "original 360 and C6". Hows it feel to be put in your place by a obvious expert on these trucks.

five hundred is cheap for a 65-66 slick around here. no matter 352,360,390,300,etc. i call that opportunity. that is slightly more than scrap price here. probably less than scrap price there if you are close to the ocean.

I know how you feel. There's a 65 swb with a window in the side of the 6 cylinder block, some floorboard rust and no title. I thought I'd buy it for around 500 for parts but almost fell on the ground when the guy told me how there was nothing wrong with it but the blown motor and missing title and that it was cheap at 1000 bucks for such a rare truck. I gotta tell ya there's nothing rare about old fords with no title around these parts it seems to be all I ever find LOL.

Had me one of those discussions with a guy selling a trio of Falcon project cars. He was adamant that the one I was interested in was a 1968...even though it had 1969 side marker lights (which are significantly different). I later decoded the door tag and...yup...1969. Of course, he also told me repop body parts were available for it, which they aren't. :bs:
