Okay, Secret Project #2 is a lot more light-hearted than Secret Project #1.

Back on July 5th of this year, a production company from the Food Network filmed the pilot episode for a new series at the museum. The show is called "Bubba-Q" and it will premier on the Food Network channel this coming Monday (08/19) at 10:30 PM ET. The show is about a bar-b-que chef named Bubba (Duh) who turns all sorts of objects into smokers. In the pilot episode he converts a 1953 Chrysler Windsor into a fully functional smoker. A bunch of us at the museum were asked to be "extras" for the filming. I haven't seen any of the tapes yet, so I don't know if I made the final cut or not. Anyway, it was a really fun experience (except for the sunburn) and at the end of the day we all ate some REALLY good bar-b-que. If you get a chance, check it out. There should be some good footage from inside the museum.

So, here is the 1953 Chrysler Windsor arriving at the museum...

A little fine-tuning was needed...

But, then she fired right up and drove into the parking lot...

Here's the smoker. Notice the suicide rear doors (not stock in '53)...

We had to do a LOT of "takes"...

Here we are finally in the chow line...

It was a long, hot day but I will say that the food was EXCELLENT!
