Lots of ford vans had saginaw pumps.
If it cain't be fixed with a sledge hammer it must be an electrical problem!

Yes, Ford vans had them.

If my 2nd rebuilt p/s pump, a rebuilt NAPA lifetime warranty unit, is as bad as the Autozone pump, I will have to look for other options. Such as go to manual steering, try a saginaw unit, or go all out and find someone to help me do a Crown vic front clip and lower the rear to match.

I put a Saginaw pump on my '66 F100 4x4 with an FE engine in it... works awesome! I'm notosure what it would take to do a swap though as my truck was manual steering before.

Cheers,
Dion

Dion, I have a late model 5.0 with serpentine belt, so I'm not sure how hard it would be to rig that up. I'll have to check the econolines at the local yards and when I find one with a saginaw, give it a try and see what happens I guess.
