Slick 60's

How common were these? I've not seen very many in the salvage yards that I visit, actually no uni autos and only one slick auto trans. I pulled the column out of the one that I'm taking to the crusher tomorrow.

I don't think an auto was offered until maybe '64.But,I am not 100% sure on that either.

Directly quoted from the 1961 Ford truck service manual:
"Two hydraulically operated automatic transmissions, Fordomatic and HD Cruise-o-matic, are installed in 1961 Ford trucks. The Fordomatic is optional on the F-100, HD Cruise-o-matic is optional on the F-250, F-350, P-350, P-400, and P-500".
I can't answer on the numbers; I do know that some were used in various fleets in my area.

My old 64 had the auto.. but you don't see them a lot. I am not sure if I have ever seen a factory auto uni?

I've got a UNI with a factory automatic
Still has the factory steering colum
But the engine & tranny are missing
Body fair / no title

Sure it is; it don't have a clutch, and you don't have to manually shift it. It probably also gets pretty good fuel mileage, since it is the light weight edition!
Easy for me to say; I 've already got one Salina uni!
