Texas Slick's fall get together is coming up

Post by Uncle Skip »

Just a heads up. When the temperature finally goes below 100, I think it'll be time to have another Texas get together.
I'm thinking some time in October but I'm open for suggestions.
No need to respond right now, but start thinking about it.
Lyman, and you other guys outside of Houston, can you make it?
Mike Carson and some of the guys around central Texas have commented about putting on the reunion this year, but if they don't come thru you'll all have to come to Houston and I'll cook up a big pot of Texas Red and some pinto beans and jalapeno's so we can have some veggies.
Hell, I might even be prodded enough to make corn bread. Who knows.
Max. I'll make another pot just for you but you have to show up in a Slick.......bwahahahahahaaaaaa
I'll keep you updated....... film at 11.
U@ss
I'm not arguing with you. I'm just explaining why I'm right.
Pardon me. Does your deaug bite?

Guess that means I'll have to bum a ride from BroncoTom. The 63 runs, but I'm too cheap to get everything registered and inspected since all of my efforts and cash-ola are going into the 64.

Mmmmmmmmm, chili...

North Houston swap meet is Sept. 9. Still too hot maybe. Fall Conroe is November 3 and 4. Early Irons is Oct. 14. We don't have to tie it to a swap meet, but at least a cruise night if possble. I wil plan on being there when ever. Thanks, Lyman.

I plan to have my truck up here by the end of September. I can make almost any weekend other than the 3rd weekend in October, that one is reserved for my home towns fall feast.

Some day I am going to make that bastard of a trip from Kansas to TX again for old times sake. I used to do it in one day, 805 miles according to google.

Until then, you fellas are going to need to count me out, but I miss TX in a special sort of way.

Yup, that's how long it took me to get from here to KC when I picked up an Army trailer for my Jeep. Good 12 hr. drive. Leave at the crack and get there for beer time. Worse part was driving through D/FW. Bunch of people in a hurry up there.

Hopefully I will have my truck up and running again by the time temps fall. Then I can have the chance of joining yall and having my truck there. Sure would be nice road trip to test the new Dakota suspension. Remember the Goodguys show is coming up in OCT time frame. It's nothing compared to pate tho.

Hmmm, ugly Austin hippy trucks allowed? I'd love to bring out my girlfriend to see some "nice" slicks so she can see the potential! Then maybe I'll get permission to start shopping for a short Uni!

Skip, can you make a "care package" of Texas Red for us old men on fixed incomes here in Missouri? There's still a bunch of us Johnny Rebs up here in Missouri.

As one of the "newer" Texas guys, I would love to attend. Keep me posted on the dates. I won't be driving the '64.....it's still in pieces.
