I figured I'd get some kind of response from this post

Why did you replace the booster? Was the diaphragm leaking?

Others might ask why you didn't change the MC to the duel reservoir type while you were at it....?

This a nice unit and install...my only fear is the single line master cylinder... I have blown brakelines before with a double line and its scary enough.. It does look good though. As long as you have all new brakelines, and wheel cylinders.... it should be golden for years

I did not look at the old one very well. Must be my age.

I was just kidding around. Certainly meant no offense.

switching to a dual m/c would have been a better upgrade. why do so many people think adding a booster is so much nicer i personally like manual brakes. nice firm brake "feel". i feel the same way about power steering most times. i put power rack swaps in stuff for people before that drove fine but "the wife may drive it some and i want it to have power for her" or some similar excuse. more times than not they regretted the swap. mushy/sponge/no feel brake and twitchy steering guess i don't see those as improvements....

Yes 8 agree 10 fold about the dual MC upgrade being done. But though I drive this truck more then My father and I work on the truck more then My father. This truck is still my fathers. Just to put in scale my father. It took me 15 Yrs to talk my father into simply putting a booster on. His thought process is this. He rarely drives it. It hasn't towed aNything since the 80s and it hasn't hauled anything besides camping gear since the 90s. It's just the old farm truck with a paint job. The only reason the original straight 6 isn't still in the truck is because it blew up and the 289 and c4 were free.

But the good news is the brake lines were replaced in 97 during the restoration. if I could of had it my way I would have installed dual lines and dual MC.

Yeah I didn't mean to lecture or anything... I just got scared one time and so I bring it up... Its a pretty cool, ole truck with history.. the best kind of truck to have.
