Post by Bones »

I need to replace the pressure brake switch on my '66 F-100. after replacing the switch, do I need to bleed my brakes?

Couldnt hurt, I would. I would also do away with that type switch anyway, I have electric switches under the dash mounted on a corner bracket, activated by the brake pedal hanger

if you dont step on the brake pedal when its out ,no fluid will leak out or air get in.
its a quick job if you have the new one in hand.

i changed out my temp gauge and lost less than a shotglass of coolant.

That's exactly what I did....
As soon as the old one out...good one (I have lots of spare parts) back in

Guys, Ron Francis Wiring has a "low pressure" brake switch with a neat little connector that you should consider. I noticed on my own master cylinder that sometimes I had to really press down on the brakes to get the brake light to come on. I don't know if that is or was a function of the disk brake swap or not, but the new switch from Francis cured my problem.
(and about the same price as the original).
I'm not arguing with you. I'm just explaining why I'm right.
Pardon me. Does your deaug bite?

Skip's Right. I Used One Of These On My Truck When I Upgraded The Brakes & They Work Great!..............
