PTO question

Post by ICEMAN6166 »

someone knows the answer to this or has a spare t98 they can look inside.
before i moved i had several pto units.
i saved one and brought it.
last week i was cleaning it up and realised i may have saved a np 235 instead of a warner unit. :cussing:
pretty sure the warner uses a straight tooth gear while the np435 has a angled tooth gear.
i have the angled one.
no big hurry but i dont want to dump all the oil in my trans to find out, cant find anything in the factory manual about it.

Both have Helical (angled) gears. If using a Muncie PTO the np 435 would use a N81 input geat and the T98 would use a W80 input gear.

Brian,
My service manual has an exploded view of the NP435 and all of the gears are angled except for the first/reverse slider gear which is straight cut.
The T98 appears to be all angle cut gears.
If you need these exploded views, I can probably get them scanned and email them to you.
