Hey Uncle Skip !
Hey Uncle Skip !
Ok, IC Dakota kit welded in and test fitting junk yard parts. I got my mustang tank, rear crossmember is out....I click on Uncle Skip's Pony Up article and I can't print all the text.....the text expands when the mouse is over one step at a time....I'd like to print it all out for reference in the shop...is there a way to print the whole thing ?....do I have to buy the back issue of Classic Trucks Magazine that carried the article ? Skips pictures are a big help, but I need the text for all the details, dimensions, ect.....HELP !...Dave

Dave,
Go to the bottom of the page and click on see all 17 photos. When that page comes up, you can open each pic and the text is there to print. It will take extra pages but you should be able to get it all that way.

Re: Hey Uncle Skip !
Thanks Kevin, but Dave, if you need any more information just let me know.
I've learned a couple of things since I first did that article. One in particular is the fuel tank vent. I think I put it in Builds and projects but it might be in hints and tricks.
The other thing is if you're using a style side bed centering the tank in the cradle in relation to the frame.
And finally, I strongly suggest using the smallest diameter fuel filler cap you can find. I used a 2" and its way to big.
Let me know if I can help.

I'm not arguing with you. I'm just explaining why I'm right.
Pardon me. Does your deaug bite?

All Right ! ....got all the pictures printed with the text !.....next question....I'd like a cover on the bed....so I can't really run the filler neck where Skip ran his....anybody ever move the filler neck to the side and run it into the wheel well ?.....you would have to reach in to fill it but heck, those wheel wells are HUGE !.....Dave

Re: Hey Uncle Skip !
Just a thought, but it seems to me that putting the filler neck in any way exposed in the wheel well is a questionable location. Wheel comes off or a tire belt, broken axle etc. might take the filler with it. Sorry to be a fraidy cat. BUT, i don't like being on fire.
I've seen plenty of options that seem to be a better solution. just my 2 cents, School me otherwise tho 'cause I'm thinking of doing the rear mount tank soon myself. I don't mind the bed level filler personally though. Even the Side door looks to wok pretty well, but maybe it would be close to the tire also?

I don't think that mine will work on the uni. I think that the taillight is too small to work like mine does. I haven't taken Nick's out yet but they appear to be smaller.

at the widest point i think they are the same but because of the curve they look smaller.kstones63 wrote:Paul,Toyz wrote:Have you looked at Kevin's setup?
