If you are in the area, here's a few other things going on.

Fuel Altered Nationals are running the 15th and 16th at Eddyville Raceway Park, approximately 65 miles SE of Altoona. If you haven't seen these crazies, it's worth the trip if you are in the area or passing thru. Highly recommended.

If you like things a little slower and quieter, there is the Ford Power Show in Bloomfield, Iowa on Sunday the 17th. It's approximately 100 miles SE of Altoona (and where I live). Located on the Davis County Fairgrounds, usually around 100 Ford powered vehicles at this one. Entry ends at noon and awards are at 3:00 sharp.

I will add the rc airplane flying field located between Slickstock and Kids house (North of Bondurant) is always open to spectators...

If you are into sprint car racing, there will be 360 Sprint Invader Series races at the Bloomfield Speedway on Friday evening the 15th. That series moves to Burlington 34 Raceway on Saturday the 16th and Quincy Illinois on Sunday the 17th. It's their Nationals and should be well attended. Plus Knoxville is taking the week off so the 360 guys that normally run there have no place to go. Watch the Knoxville regulars mixed in with the Eastern Iowa/Western Illinois based Sprint Invader group.

Of the 3 tracks, Bloomfield is the fastest and widest. It also has the best track design and lighting. (I'm prejudiced since I designed Bloomfield and spearheaded the group that re-built the track 25 years ago).

My schedule recommendation? Simple.
Friday the 15th - Bloomfield Speedway for night one of the Sprint Invader Nationals
Saturday the 16th - Eddyville Dragway for the Fuel Altered Nationals
Sunday morning and afternoon - Ford Power Show in Bloomfield, awards at 3:00 sharp!
Sunday the 17th evening - Maxwell, Iowa for the Darrell Reglin Pre Slick Stock Cookout Kickoff

Can't go wrong!
