anyone know of a truck with the poppy red on it? Im digging that color and it seems to be a factory color of that era maybe just for cars?

Look at a '65-66 Mustang color. Always been my favorite on the '65-66 fastbacks.

Don't think it was a truck option but I could be wrong.

I think the truck color was Rangoon red. Its your truck - paint it how you like it.

I believe you could get that colour on a truck if you special ordered it I have seen a thread on another site by a (previous member not 100% on this) that the truck had that colour and had the proper code stamped in the plate

My '66 is red, just not sure of the exact color. I'll check my tag when I get home tomorrow.

went through this delima when I restored mine. My truck was ordered with a 5M code. This was a mustang color called signal flare red. It looks like poppy red in the truck color card. I had several people tell me that the only color you could get was rangoon red in these 1966 trucks. This was a sentimental restoration and I wanted it correct so was about to pull my hair out when I met a old local guy that had a farm full of these trucks. He told me that for 99 dollars at the local ford dealer you could order any color in the ford fleet. He ordered on in school bus yellow.
To end the story my dad bought the truck in 68 and he purchased it from the original owner. I looked him up he was 76 at the time - small town- and he told me that he special ordered the paint. So Any color in the ford fleet could be yours for a price. Poppy red or signal flare red is a nice combo with white. Paint on my good friend!

I just checked mine, its paint code J which is Rangoon Red.
