I have a 64 f100 sitting on a 78 4x4 frame. It has a c6 in it now. The engine that came out of it was a 400m. I have a 460 that i am wanting to put in.
Will my 460 bolt up using the existing 400m mounts or are they differant?
Thanks for the help,
Wes

M series engines and 385/LIMA series engines share the same motor mount setup and tranny bellhousing pattern, as long as there isn't a flex plate issue it should bolt in.

400 and 460 have totally different mounts. Trans is the same but everything else is different. The bad news is there are no stock mounts that will work for a 460 because Ford never offered it as an option on a 4 X 4 until after the 1980 frame redesign. The easiest thing to do is but insulators from L & L to put a 460 on 400 mounts. They work well and I have used several sets and have never had a problem. They actually make insulators for putting a 460 onto just about any stock bracket on a 73-79 truck! Hawkrod
