I've got the plates but I dont think I've got any of the unique push buttons. Anybody retrofitted an extension to the standard push buttons?

Yes, you know those small Little squares you put on the bottom of your dining chairs and tables to stop them scraping across the floor? (The hard rubber ones)
I glued (epoxy) a 1/2" square one into the plate that the button touches. Worked great! I'd buy a couple of different styles, if the pad isn't thick enough the button won't retract.

Got the passenger side mounted, geez those bugers can be a real pain in the backside. I ended up making a new button shaft out of an old screwdriver that I had, worked perfect. I had one pushbutton that the shaft was separate so thats the one I used. I know one thing, if I was mounting these on a new paint job, it would be a two person operation because they are a bitch to keep together and then try to get the screws started.

Got the drivers side put on today, took all of about 5 minutes. Anybody know if you can buy the pads separate? I've got a pair but they've shrunk up and wont fit.

Obsolete and Classic Parts on OK City has 'em for 23 bucks a pair. They're just going on my patina'd paint job so I dont think I need the gaskets anyway.
