Carb/Distributor Replacement for Autolite 1100/Loadomatic?

Post by shortwide »

I've rebuilt the Autolite 1100 carb on my 66 240 twice now and the housing is just past it's prime. Unfortunately, new Autolite 1100's aren't available.

I'd like to install a fresh, brand new carb on this engine. I know that also means installing a different distributor.

Can anyone recommend a carburetor that is more readily available and a distributor that I can buy new?

I've considered installing a two-barrel carb, but that'd mean a new manifold and I don't know if I want the hassle of messing with it....but if it's the only option, I'll do it.

carter yf and a duraspark II or a later model points distributor with centrifugal weights. I used a YF with a hot air choke and it works really well. I think manual choke versions are around but not near as common.
