If you are a big guy you know that stock wheel digs in the belly. What wheels have you used with out shorting the steering column? I have a 69 P/S column I may try. Will measure it tomorrow to see if it is actually shorter. In my 68 I used a 78 Tilt wheel with the sport 3 spoke wheel. Haven't found a tilt column for cheap yet. Interested in knowing what diameter and how much dish.

An Econoline wheel from a 61-67 or a fridge wheel.. they are not dished out like our trucks wheels.... this is the one in my 62 Econo-up.. still 17" but closer to flat than ours in our trucks...

Never thought of that. just sold one of those pickups. Needed too much work for me at this point.

the p/s column is 2" shorter, but without modifying the tube or moving the bracket that bolts to the dash it won't help. one thing i have noticed is that a galaxie column has the underdash bracket up farther meaning the tube is shorter from the dash to driver than the truck column.
