1979 Tilt install

I found a tilt column at a friends shop and he let me have it. I installed it tonight. No pictures now but will get some this weekend. It was fairly easy. I had installed one in my 68 Bump. This truck has manual steering so the column was two inches lower so I had to remove the column mount from old column and tomorrow will weld it to tilt column. Fits in nice and gives me much needed belly clearance. Have to swap in a different steering wheel and wire it. It is a Auto column so I am going to remove the shift lever and try to mount a tach in the hole.

Excuse the ugly holes. Still have to weld it to the column.

Will make a color chart this week. Had two car shows and other projects to do.
Forgot to mention at 6 foot 1 inch tall and 350 lbs the two inches it gives you is huge. Probably would not need tilt. I was planing to install power steering but dont think I need it now. It is that much better. Need to remove the auto stalk and the PNRD21 indicator, Of course the first think I did is tried to use the column shifter to put it in gear. I jumped out of this truck and into my 68 Camper special and was looking for clutch pedal.
