I am looking to replace the dizzy on my '56 and found a NOS one that has a c2 (62) part number. Will this work? I also want to apologize for posting a non slick question but you guys are the most knowledgeable people that I could think of.

The loadomatics should fit. I however am looking to do the 300 dizzy swap, so I get mechanical advance as well as vacuum advance, and duraspark ignition as well

i was thinking about converting mine with pertronix. Would the 300 conversion be an upgrade over pertronix?

Right now you are limited to vacuum advance that does not work well with other carbs. I have pertronics in two of my trucks. However if you want better performance, the addition of mechanical advance or steping up to duraspark ignition as outlined in hints and tricks by 'bobebhotep' is the way to go

So how do you go about converting the 300 dizzy? I couldnt find it in the hints and tricks section. After doing some research I think it is what I should be doing anyway.

This is an article on the Hamb about how to replace the gear. You can drop in a 64 oil pump and just use a straight 5/16 inch drive or do like they said in the article to use another year's pump.

The pre egr YF carbs should bolt right up to the 223 manifold.

There is a link in my signature line for how to hook up the duraspark with an HEI module

I found a guy that will convert my '56 LOM to mechanical advance. He said he would need my '56 dizzy and a newer one with mechanical advance to convert mine. My question would be what dizzy do I need to send him to complete the conversion. Would the '72 240 work?
