My truck matches the above link except the N transmission code. I have a run of the mill NP435, unless mine has a gear ratio difference. Nothing different from any car/pickup 352, but it did have this odd valve cover color and carburetor govenor pictured.

VIN: F250DK******
?:129 Color: M Model: F250 Body: 581 Transmission: N Axle: 24
GVW: 7500 Net Hp: 172 RPM: 4000 DSO: 632754

copied and pasted from the other thread where you deleted your post and started a new one

why is the valve cover odd
if it is because there are no holes on top for pvc the engine had a road draft tube originally
N is the correct np435 code for 1965
in 1966 it was changed to A and that was used 1966-1986

the governor is usually found on commercial fleet trucks and school buses, i have mostly seen them on f350s and bigger but its not out of the ordinary to see them on lower models too.

If you have literature will you do others a favor and check that link for other mistakes? I ignored your comment below because I said nothing about pcv. I was giving you a chance to reread it.

Edit: You cleared up info on the carb spacer, I haven't seen anything close to that on a small slick.

1965 Code N represents the NP 435 in the '65 f100/350. For the heavier trucks it was code "A for 1965 models. As Brian stated, it was code "A" for all applications starting with the '66 models.
The only errors I have personally noted in the Didgey listings involve trim codes. It is far from complete, but provides an easy to find resource particularly for the lighter trucks.

Chris, my '65 F250 has the 'N' code too.
