Lot of you guys know my old 61 also known as George
Image

Well yesterday , It went thru quite the "tough truck" exercises....
I was discing a fire guard on some grassland with a 12,000# tractor
Well I buried that tractor to the axles going thru a ditch....
Called up Colleen (wife) ... "Bring the 61 and a chain" I told her
After a little wait I can here the roar of the 223 coming down the dirt road
Not knowing exactly where I was, she comes thru the VERY tall grass....
Grass that hides things..... Like ditches ... Big ditches
She hit a small one that was probably 2 feet deep by 2 feet wide....
Pretty sure the front tires were a couple feet in the air before landing
I saw the log chain jump out of the bed when the back tires passed over it.....
After rubbing her head she got out & we hooked the chain up
Put the old 4x4 in low low and proceeded to try to pull me backwards
I was in the tractor and watched as those oversized tires jerked and bounced
Getting a bite and then breaking loose... Truck jumping up & down shaking
Pulled pretty good , but I knew it was a lost cause
Sometimes it's best just to go get the right tool for the job
On the ride home to get the other tractor... Old George started coughing and spitting
Probably shook some stuff loose going to the carb....
Pulled out the choke to "suck" the nuts thru ...
Ran fine after that....
I know that old truck was abused a little hard for an antique
But seeing Colleen rub her head was worth it

After your closing statement, you might sleep with one eye open for a few days.

SPark

I'm sure George can handle the abuse every once in a while. I recently ran over a curb with my 66, tailgate proceed ed to open with a bang, the 352 died and I fired it back up and drove away discovering everything was fine, including my alignment. :burp:

Heck, Gerry's got you beat. All he has to do is to just take off from a stoplight and his tailgate opens. Just ask the originator of this thread! :rotflmao:

The SlickStock 6 StoplightDrags happened right in front of Dean & me....
Beer went all over the intersection.... But don't worry... We saved em all
Left a few bottles of water... But fish make love in that stuff anyway
