Been lurking on here for some time but figured it was time to introduce myself. Name is Rob and I have a 66 F100 that is a Mercury clone and a 66 F250. Just picked up the F250 in January so doin' all the safety upgrades like complete new brakes with a front disc conversion. All new gaskets throughout the engine and trans. New under truck fuel tank ( eliminating in cab tank) new brake lines and fuel lines along with new tires. The M100 (clone) is a ground up build. Every thing back to "new" condition with a few modifications. Starting with a 4/5" drop, 4 wheel disc and an updated driveline which will include a 4.6 DOHC Mark VIII engine and an E4OD trans. Except for the stance and wheels the truck will appear stock with all the trim and emblems retained. The interior will also realm stock appearing but I am using a bench seat from a '96 covered to look like it was factory. So that's my story in a nutshell. Looking forward to getting to know a few of ya.

Thanks for the warm greetings guys. As soon as I can resize a few pics I'll get them posted. For now I'm focusing on the F250. Got my king pin kit today from Jeg's so I got all the front end end parts for my disc conversion. The motor and trans comes out of the truck on Saturday and put on a stand. I have a quarter inch of sludge to clean off it, then I can replace the freeze plugs and rear main then get it painted. I painted the DOHC that is going in the Mercury Caribbean turquoise and I think I'll do the same on the 428 in the F250. The trucks are going to look like father all twins :D

Hey Rich, thanks for the offer of the Mercury pieces. I'll send you a pm with my contact info and we can talk.

Rob, welcome , but I'm really unhappy you posted the pics and price. For 300$ here you get a truck that you can look through the top and see the ground. Even at a thousand you won't get anything near that good. Cost of getting a truck from there to here is over 1,000$. By the time I find one I would like to buy and is worth the price, it's already sold. Then there is the dealing with people that don't know these trucks and the scammers. Good luck with the truck. Sorry I don't have any Mercury parts, although I do know of a bump side in the area.

Rob, Welcome to the site. There are a lot of great people here.
Maybe if you are still in the states in the summer of 2016, we can meet up north and drive together to SlickStock.

Sorry I made you unhappy 64F100 aka Rich. I have a friend in Staunton IL. Who has the same issue with tin worm ridden cars. He comes out to California to get his collectibles. It was the other Rich aka rbeck204, that has the Mercury pieces. If you ever find a truck in the San Francisco Bay Area you want me to go look at for you I would be happy to help you out. Just let me know.

Thanks Iceman. You guys in Co. Finally thawing out? Yep, $300 was very cheap considering it ran good, with a 428/C6 and NO RUST in the cab whatsoever. The hood will need to be replaced due to th rust in the nose and the 20 pounds of undercoating the last owner sprayed under it. I will say that is what probably saved the cab though.

Kevin, good talking to you last night. Not sure what's going to happen next year when Slickstock come around but, yes if we're here then I'm up for it. Both trucks should be done by then so I'll drive the F100 to it.

So I think I'll start up a 2 truck project thread in the projects forum. Hope to see you all there...

you never know what you'll find until you dig a little deeper. So I got the motor and trans out of the white F250 the other day. Pulled them out as a unit then unbolted the trans and put it on a cart. Removed the flexplate and to my amazement, not only is this a 428 but it's a Cobra Jet! It has the "C" scratched into the casting at the back of the block. I got it on a stand and removed the oil pan. The crank has the "1U" on it and the block has the extra reinforcing webbing as well. Yep a genuine Cobra Jet. Only wish I had the CJ heads to go with it.
