hydro brake booster question.
I'm going to purchase a hydro brake booster master cylinder combo in the coming days. I am looking at the 02-10 f250 variety with the 1 3/8 bore master cylinder. The actuator rod looks very simular to the stock one that came out of my 65. Has anyone done this conversion? Also what advice could you offer on an as easy install as possible. Any input would be appreciated. Thank you.

Re: hydro brake booster question.
I went aftermarket with my disc brake/booster configuration on my '66. I heard of numerous situations where factory master cylinders that were rebuilt began to malfunction or leak prematurely. These issues can result from worn out units that are rebuilt over and over again and are just plain not rebuildable anymore. But many a rebuilder is primarily interested in selling them and quality is not a priority in many cases. I'm using a Tuff Stuff master cylinder with an 8" booster. Let me know if I can be of assistance if you choose to go this route. It's working great for me and only set me back about $160.

Re: hydro brake booster question.
Thanks for the info guys. I am set on a hydraulic booster, to do away with vacuum. I figured if I'm gonna run a power steering pump for my rack and pinion then I might as well make the most of it. Otherwise I would have went with the tuff stuff 8" booster and cylinder. I bought a booster out of a 09 f350. It should be fun to get this to work with my get up.
Re: hydro brake booster question.
sounds interesting, good luck with the challenge. i will admit, getting my aftermarket booster connected to my firewall did require some modified brackets
