Steering Column and Hood ??

I had a gap between the bottom of the steering wheel and the steering wheel column. So I loosened the column support under the dash and pried the column up a bit from the steering box. This seem to fix my gap issues under the steering wheel. Is this a common thing on these old trucks? I fixed the floor boards and cab mounts this winter.

Also we put the hood on and hinge springs but it sure doesn't close very good like it should. What's the deal on this with these trucks? The hinges are not binding or anything but it sure don't close very well as you have to push it in place etc.

yes normal with floorboard and cab mount sag after replacing the column tube may need adjustment

hood hinges are a common issue too
they get loose after time and cant be fully adjusted to close properly
i have washers under 1 bolt on each front of the hood side of the hinge to get the back of the hood even with the top of the cowl

hay, make sure the hinges are well lubed at all the joints. It makes a big difference. Tom
