nice not rusty but a liittle bowed sonoma tailgate been in the yard since we moved here

really against the idea of welding GM tin on my slick but hey its floor patches so i can kick it all the time

so i cut out 1\2 the outer skin

seemed to cut a lot faster than the slick tin

hmmm

better measure

slick, .062"
sonoma, .046" (25% less)

definitely can under no cicumstances have that on my truck

back in the scrap pile it went.

All the newer cars & trucks have thin sheet metal. Also if you look at the glass in newer vehicles it is thinner too. All to save weight. Put then they add it all back on plus more in all the power options. I worked in a Ford dealer body shop when the new Fairmonts & the 79 Mustangs came out. I was amazed at how thin everything was.
