Slick 60's

lokar install on my c6. anyone see any reason I cant mount it all the way forward so to mimic the original location?

and who ever thought it would be a good idea to use the 2nd gear band adjustment nut for a mounting point should be shot in the head.

If it doesn't hit the dash, I'd move it
as far forward as possible

There is quite a bit of flex in that particular shifter. My lwb had one installed, and there are chips in my dash from the knob tapping the dash.
The shifter itself works great and looks good, most people think its a manual.
I would love to see close ups of your install, especially how it connects to the shifting location, with the inner and outer mounting actuators. I can not get the reverse light indicator switch to work maybe a look at the instructions might help?

Love the looks of that long shifter. I've been looking at the long shifter but wasn't sure how it would look, it looks great. Unibody, I wonder if the Lokar shifter that mounts on the hump rather than on the tranny would reduce the amount of vibration?

My '57 had a floor mount Lokar. The one I have for my street rod project is a tranny mount. Floor mount is supposed to be more stable. Mine never moved in the '57, very solid. Found the tranny mount for $100 from a guy parting out a project he couldn't finish and couldn't resist it.

The truck came with the tranny mount, chips and all. It does not vibrate, but if put into park with to much enthusiasm, it will tap the dash. I suppose I could slide it back some, but its a pain to fool with.
I would really like a pick of how the shift linkage mounts to shifting point? There is an inner and an outer post that turns.

Thanks, I have a feeling the back up actuator arm broke off but I still have no clue if the shifter linkage is hooked up correctly, and mine has no manual kick down,

the kick down is still the original arm. it mounts outside of the shifter linkage in the original location. I will get you pics on Saturday. I will be working on it and it is supposed to be a nice sunny day.

talk about a hard place to get a pic of. the original lever stays on the trans. the lokar piece "clamps" over the stock part. then the original kickdown lever can be reinstalled in its original location.

The gold shifter piece is identical to mine.
I have nothing going to the center nub on mine except a little bracket, that would depress the back up light switch,which bolts through the oil pan flange.
My c6 kicks down with a vacuum hose.
