My 62 shortbox build
Re: My 62 shortbox build
That's the kit I was thinking of, and I'm curious what the final selling price ends up being. Some serious potential there.
Looking forward to seeing this with the fenders on. The high-back buckets look good in there too.

Re: My 62 shortbox build
Based on the info posted on the Industrial Chassis website I believe the kit shown is the maximum drop, which has about a 5" c-notch built in. They're apparently doing one that matches the height of the stock Dakota IFS kit as well, which I suspect would require much less of a notch in the rear rails.jamesdfo wrote:That four link looks good as well, my only question is how far above the original elevation of the box floor will the kickup protrude?
Re: My 62 shortbox build
Had to see it with the front clip stuck on. It's the first time since I've owned it that it's been this complete.

Looking good!
They wouldn't hire me at A&W so I became an automotive technician!
Re: My 62 shortbox build
Excellent result! The wheel placement looks spot-on.
Re: My 62 shortbox build
Chose to take the cheap and easy way for now. Axle over spring kit.

Over axle is the way I did it....as you said 'for now'!

Nice progress, that looks like a good amount of drop.

That's what I'm afraid of. Small price for having a cool looking truck.

I'm hoping this summer I have time to put the Lincoln Mark VIII IRS I have in it. Should solve that problem.

I Like it ! I went with the four link I may have overbuilt it.
If you ask me anything I don’t know, I’m not going to answer.

I've been looking at Mark VIII IRS setups. There is a little info on the site here but I'm looking for more. I have a line on a low mileage setup and trying to decide if it's the way to go.

Re: My 62 shortbox build
I am not a suspension expect!!! Just my thoughts. IRS is interesting in theory, but it seems I see a lot of IRS cars going down the road with obvious rear suspension alignment issues, mainly keeping the rear wheels in a vertical plane. If you want to autocross or rally race, it may be the way to go. If you want simple reliability a normal diff may be a better choice. I think with the correct setup, you can get similar performance without the complexity of the IRS.
