This is just too cool,I'm not believing it happened......been three hours now.It all started back in May,one evening Valla and I were watching a little of the T&V and some guy starts knocking on the front door, she says "Oh, jeez its a salesman..."so I open the door.First words outta his mouth is "I'm not a salesman!!!" I wanna talk about your old trucks. That"s all I needed to hear.Wasn't long till we're sitting in the garage having a beer......and that"s how I met Jay.
He had just bought a 62 f-350 with really bad brakes, ask if I'd have a look at it.The truck was only a five min.drive away from my house. This is what I found.
Got everything cleaned up,installed new oil seals, wheel cylinders, and shoes....

First test drive I did after the this I hit the pedal ,the truck made an instant right turn.Jay needed to get the trash off of if so he drove my 66 I drove the 62 to the landfill, a few miles later that front wheel cylinder loosened up...good brakes all around.
Jay took the 62 home and I didn't hear from him for awhile, got a text one day,"For sale $3,000.00 of roofing material, includes a free truck." That was last summer. And again this fall something similar,I told him at the moment I already have a 66 350,can't really afford another one. Then it shows up on Craigslist, only one person looked at it,drove it,brought it back. The crank pulley separated,Jay didn't know how to fix it,so the truck went to a storage facility.Last week another call,Dan I want you to have this truck, and again I can't afford it Jay.I don't want to pay any more storage,I want to get it outta there,he says.Find a place for it and it's yours,I want somebody who will maintain and appreciate it.Yesterday we arranged to have it moved to a friends house,Jay even used his AAA tow insurance for the move.
Here it is....
And for that sporty ''Town and Country" look the big Bud wheels out back, one piece 17.5"s and the front is wearing its original 16" lock ring 7:50/16's
Here's all that it needs:
1) Crankshaft pulley.....old one is off,new one is set (need a longer bolt to pull it in tight) did that today
2) Ignition switch....got a few in the basement
3) Battery
4) two rear dually's and spare are flat......
5) Trace down a short.....battery goes dead from sitting
6) Sun visors....got a set of the padded vinyl ones, off white excellent condition
7) Headliner......gonna go with 24 gauge sheet metal,I'm thinking of a dark green fabric Plaid, glue it to the metal, think a Scottish hunting truck....
The last thing I want is a set of gun racks for the rear window
Been driving Slick's exclusively since 1984........its finally paid off.......
