Dentside Bronco Rear Bumper??

The place to talk Slicks. All we ask is that discussion has something to do with slicks...

Dentside Bronco Rear Bumper??

Post by jamesdfo »

I saw a painted Dentside Bronco Rear Bumper f/s, visually they appear the same as the Slick Sport rear bumper, but always the sceptic, I asked the seller to measure the spread(s) on the boltholes, and it appears they are 3" (ish) further apart compared to the '65 Sport bumper I have here??
I guess that kind of makes sense, as I seem to recall mention here on slick 60's that the rear section of the frame on the dentside trucks is ~3" wider than on the slicks??
Has anybody actually tried to use one of these?
I think if a guy wanted to spend a bit of time, and had one of both in front of them, the bracket holes could be relocated, just not sure I'm prepared to go down that path at the moment.......

Has anybody actually tried to use one of these?

Haven't used one a Slick but I owned a 79 Bronco for 20 years. I think a person could fab some brackets to narrow it up.

I just spaced mine out with 1 1/2" nuts for a "trial!" with the stock '65 brackets. They work so well, I've been putting off making spacers from 1 1/2" square tubing.

Well, I'm going to snap this one up, and once I get it home, we'll be able to compare the 1965 Sport bumper to the Dentside Bronco bumper, but I expect that the only difference is going to be the location of holes on bumper which attach the mounting brackets.
(The bad new is, I won't get it until we go to Red Deer for the Quicktimes Swapmeet on Mar 19th)
Spacers are easy enough to fab up:)

Yep, brackets remain the same, bumper holes are 3'' further apart. That's how I ended up with the dent bumper. Bought it from a friend, brand new, at a very good price!

Is this what you are looking for? It's on a parts truck I have.

I'm not sure what it's from, thought it might be Ford.
