Mexican F-100 slick panels?
Hey you guys,
We all know that Ford panel truck production in the US stopped in '60, but I had heard they continued to build Slick panels in Mexico. Anyone know anything about this? I know the few times that I have been in Mexico I have always spotted cool old trucks we didn't get up here.
thanks,

John.
If you can pick up panels in Mexico, new or used, that would be a great source for parts.
The new aftermarket fenders and such that are now available, made in "whereever" are o.k., but the sheet metal is sub-standard and much thinner that the original parts.
One thing for sure, you shouldn't have the rust problem with mexican sheet metal we have domestically.
Good luck.

I think I have heard of south of the boarder slick panels, never seen one. I looked through my Ford Trucks since 1906 book and didnt see any. That book has some great slicks in all sizes from F-100 through F-950, N series and other variations. South America also had some cool Fords, they had Mavericks intot he 80's with some interesting taillight panel variations.

I have that book too, in fact I wrote a review on it when if first came out.
Great book, but there was nothing about Mexican production that I remember.
I guess if maybe one of you guys on here is rich, maybe an expedition should be made to Mexico to see if a Slick panel truck can be found.
Here in So Cal every once in a while we used to see a Slick sporting a black front bumper, which meant it was originally from Mexico.

Now we're rockin' & rollin' As early as the late '60's I had heard tell of guys spotting post '60 Ford panels down Mexico way.
I have a feeling, one of you guys is gonna drag one home, and when you do we'll get it into CCT.
Thanks a lot you all... It rained like crazy last night here in SoCal, I've got to go open doors and let the water out of some my trucks that leak a little... okay a lot.
Talk to you later

Z-MAN,I think you`ll find that the ambulance is a converted pickup.but thanks to the government departments for importing the f-series down here, they were still converting F150`s to ambulances in the late 90`s and some gmc`s
Honey, If I say I`ll fix something I will, there`s no need to remind me every 6 months!!
