New guy. Pics included and a few questions

I'm from central Ohio and just picked up a 65 F100.

I've already dove into it headfirst and replaced the floor pans and flipped the axle and perches. I want her to sit low but I'm not trying to lay frame or anything crazy. It is getting a modest airbag setup.

I am keeping the "patina" for now so just making it low and reliable.

Does anyone know if anyone sells a patch kit to delete the spare tire "dent" on the step side? I'm not running a spare so I don't need the dent.

Use Photobucket for pictures as it's free and easier.

As for the spare tire fender, just sell that one and pick up a used regular one. I prefer the spare tire fender as I am going to run one on the side. But the non spare seem to be easy to find. I see them on adverts all the time. You can buy a repop one for under 400. (Expensive so I'd buy a old one).

Get a photobucket account and start a build thread.

Welcome to the show.

Welcome, I am from Delaware in central Ohio. I think you would be best looking for a fender without the spare tire dent in it. I've seen them on Criagslist in various locations across the state. Keep all the spare tire stuff together, someone will want it. You could make a patch, but it would require some decent english wheel skills to get the compound curve correct.

I was hoping to patch it since I'm keeping the exterior body relatively untouched for now. I don't want to have one brand new fender.

Why not find a good used one, cut out the area where the spare is and use it for the patch?

Ohiopatina, I think I can help you. I'm replacing my rear fenders because they have little rust holes, too many to repair. The part you need seems to be in good shape if you're interested.

It takes a while only working a little bit each nights after the kids go to bed. The notches are in and the frame has been plated near the notch

Excuse the mess. That's the remains of a billion grinding and cutoff wheels and 52 years of Ohio rust that falls off every time you look at the truck

That is not a mess, it is the sign of progress!
