Fuel pump
Fuel pump
So on the 223 in my 64 I have replaced the fuel pump three times in two years because they start leaking oil. Anybody else have this problem or know of a good alternative or upgrade?

Mine has an electric
Mine has an electric pump, the old one is still mounted, so I don't know why the PO switched--maybe that's the reason.

My 223 had a similar problem- It BLASTED out a hole in the top, and sprayed all over everything under the hood.
Make sure your oil level isn't too high. I think that may have been an issue, though I may be wrong. It was a long time ago.
I also took a cotter pin, jammed the looped end into the hole, and put a chunk of aluminum or something on it like a shield. It at least deflected any jets of oil coming out the hole.
