Took the bench out today and put some hi back buckets in. Did not care for the look or the feel so Thursday the buckets come back out and the bench goes back in. Have some other buckets that will go in my 76. Leaves me with 2 sets of buckets and 2 bench seats as well.

I left the bench seat in mine.

I have enough room between the steering wheel and my body. I have bucket seats in my '13. I just prefer the bench in this '63 instead.

Yeah, for some reason buckets just don't feel right in a slick,

I put '93 T-Bird seats in my '57 F100 since it came without a seat, they worked OK. When I was parting out a very rusty '61 Unibody I reupholstered the seat out of it and put it in my '57. Ride was better, seating angle was better and felt like my tilt steering had more usable adjustment range. Maybe those guys that designed these old trucks knew what they were doing!

I much prefer buckets generally speaking, so I went with slickcollecters brakcets when he was making then and a brand new set of mustang seats covers from tmi. I went with the sport seat and headrest in the pony style. They looked great but the buckets just didn't sit right in the slick I don't think. Something about the angle just felt wrong and they sat 'low'. It could also have been the 61-64 steering column.
Big red has a bench.....

I had a friend put ford explorer buckets in his 71 f100 and they sat awful.he gave me his nice bench to go in my 66 as I didn't have a seat at all.he's trying to locate a newerstyle(late80s-early90s f150)seat to replace the buckets.he modified the brackets, moved gas tank under the frame and they never sat right.

Leeroy, I see the bucket seat truck has a pull handle on the door. I suspect that came off a Ford L series truck. We have owned four of then in the past and still have a few of the grab handles laying around. I use two of them on the side of my semi trailer to pull myself up with.

I was happy with the way they looked, and slickcollecters brackets were excellent, but they cost a fortune all finished hence the bench in Big red!

Im not sure Michelle, they were on it when I purchased and it had plenty of oddball pieces on it to 'make it work.' They made it real easy to get into and out of the slick though!!
