Tie Rod Tube

Is the '57-'60 tie rod tube a suitable replacement for '61-'64? In the master parts catalog, the '57-'60 tube has the same thread size for the tie rod ends and has only about 1/4" difference in length with the same axle rating. Anyone know if it will actually work?

'61-'64 don't seem to be available anywhere, without going to a jam nut style of adjuster, which I don't really like if there is not a good way to grab the tube to tighten and later loosen the nuts. I also like the stock method of clamping the tube in place.

99% we discussed this a very long time ago and gave it the thumbs up

remember
1/8" per side is only a couple threads so no real issue there

Yep, 2012. I swear I did a search. Crazy how that works.

The '57-'60 ones are readily available and priced reasonably, so that is what I will get.
