Hey guys, so...Ive been contimplating changing out my wheels and tires eventually..but theres days I think they look good on my 64 and some I wonder if they look hidius...I've thought about using rhe 90s f150 chrome rims...but what i like about my 16s is that they arnt too big but not to small..and a low profile on a 16" kinda levels out with it having a 15" originally...any thoughts and suggestions are apprecieated.. currntly I have 90s dodge truck rims with 90s ford center caps, 235/60/r16s..
What rims are you guys running? Pic bring on rhe pics!

235/75 15" front and rear. Couldn't go much wider than that on the front with disc brakes.
Heaps of room for wider in the back, but I like being able to rotate tyres and need for only 1 spare.
I really like the look of your slick, my I think what you have is good, but could probably do a better 'period correct' wheel combo, particularly with the patina look you have going on. But hey based on my slick, I'm bias!!

Thank you, and thanks on the disk brake info...mine will get the frnt kit...just going to have to get over the fact that the kits use gm calipers..but I love the look of your '66. As far as period correct rims...I've thought about maybe picking up a set of original steel rims...and running tires better suited for the winter maybe...and swap them out seasonally...but I guess I shoupd focas on getting other things done on it
But as fae as my patina goes, I"ve been told alot lately to keep it the way it is...but theres just so much bondo thats not going to stop falling off the driverside that I'm almost sure its going to keep falling off...and theres spots on the door that I know that its traping water between the filler and the door ...if it wasnt for that I may keep t he patina...but It would probably look better if I leveled out my stance..

Re: Wheel opinions and options..not sure about mine...
I did strip the anodized coating off of all my trim, it needs polishing. I spent close to $200 for Wheel Vintiques 15x8 wheels, another $300 for mounting and balancing two new tires on them. I was given the front 15" steelies, and reused the 225/70-15 Coopers that were on the truck originally. My neighbor traded me the 17" Dodge wheels for a scraper blade that I did not use ($0 for the wheels). My brother found 2 Yokohama 225/60-17's (brand new take offs) for $50 for both. I bought two very nice 235/60-17's at the local used tire place for $70. Done...(Bob's your uncle...lol...) I then sold my 15" wheels to my son-in-law (with tires) for $500 for his '66. As orangeRcode said...17"'s are the new 15's. If you shop around, you will find that 17's aren't really any more $$$ than a good set of 15's.
