Need help - Setting new speedometer to 0

Sits on zero until I connect cable, then rests at 10mph. Go underneath remove cable from trans, back it to zero, bolt it in, creeps back up to 10mph. No cable attached sits on zero just fine. Cable and speedometer are brand new. Driving it, the needle sweep works nice, just starts at 10mph.

On another note, my close ratio RedHead steering box arrives Friday!

Thanks in advance

Make sure the cable is not putting pressure on the speedo due to having and arc in it from being packaged. There is normally no direct connection between the cable receiver and the needle part as it is a magnetic charge that is used to deflect the needle. The only thing I can think of is that the cable has an arc/kink and is forcing contact when not spinning. It is interesting that disconnecting at the tranny solves the issue as well. Could the liner be a little long?

Yes and there are several "how to's" on youtube. Pretty easy to do once you pull it apart.

If you put an O-ring behind the flange that may give your cable enough end play not to jam.
