Slick 60's

I see people wanting truck parts all the time but the biggest
hurdle is the shipping! The freight rates for some objects like
bumpers, beds, axles, sheet metal parts and whatever else is
very costly. But, what if it wasn't? Since I retired I have wanted
to make a few road trips here and there and figured if I could get
the trip to pay for itself by hauling parts going that way, then why
not! Got a flatbed truck to put together for a parts hauler and
have to finish it, but have a longbed truck to use in the mean
time until the other one is ready! So what do you think? I am
in Oklahoma City! TR

Throw a passenger side fender in that long bed and drive straight north on I-35 until you get to Minneapolis - can't find any decent ones around here.

Maybe we could post items we have to sell/trade and coordinate pickup/dropoff times near the route you'd be travelling. Wish I were retired - it could be a fun way to meet fellow Slicksters.

Right now a cabover would be a "challenge" to say the least!
But a front fender would be easy enough? Need more than that to
come that far though! I know people along the way as well!
Getting new exhaust put on it this week! Let me know if you
have anything else you need going that way. Don't have any
right front fenders myself but if you make a deal on any let
me know! TR

I've thought about hauling parts and have even considered some my self. Without doing it commercially, I think it would be hard to break even. Unless you do a pattern in a big circle it would be hard to get enough to pay for fuel. You would need a diesel truck to even be able to attempt this and come out, I believe and a large trailer. You might want to talk to Tom at Flashbacks , maybe work some kind of deal with him to pick stuff up and drop off. Just a thought.

Rich you make a good point. But I have to start this out easy and work it up a bit at a time.
Tom hauls whole trucks and goes east to west and back. Does it full time too! I just figure
if somebody needs something picked up or delivered along the way I am going it can help pay for my trip.
